On the flap: Now eighteen, Audrey returns to her hometown for the first time after the accident – the car crash that took her dad and scarred her for life. She’s here to start again. Go to college and have fun. Make new friends. Get over the past.
But the past won’t let go. Asher is here – her first kiss, her first heartbreak. More handsome and distant than ever, he’s still the boy who used to be her best friend. That was before he changed into someone she hardly knows anymore – the boy who started getting into fights and gave her the cold shoulder for years.
Asher isn’t what she needs. In fact, she hates him and should try her best to keep away from him.
Yet her body doesn’t seem to care about how she feels, and maybe, just maybe this time her body got it right. Not that she has much of a choice. Asher draws her like a bright flame, and if she isn’t careful, she’ll burn.
And that may not be such a bad thing after all...
This is New Adult erotic romance, dual POV.

This was the first book I have read by Jo Raven and I have to say, I really enjoyed it. This is a first in her Inked Brotherhood series. Although it is part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone book. “Asher” is about Audrey and Asher, once childhood friends, who are torn apart by tragedy. They still care deeply for each other but Asher’s emotional and physical abuse keeps him from reaching out to the one person who can help him, Audrey.
Once I picked up this book, I couldn’t put it down. I wanted to see how and when they would finally get over their individual pain and realize they are far better together than they ever are apart. The amount of time it took for the main characters to push through their internal struggles is what prompted me to give it less than 5 bonbons. I think they could have been brought together sooner. When reading the story I was asking myself, ”Is this it?” But no, it wasn’t. It got frustrating. But when they did finally get together and offered each other that higher level of trust, sparks flew so bright I had to close my eyes.
This is a really good read, which I highly recommend. Just be patient with Asher. He’s a gentle soul.
Rating: 4.75 Bonbons

You can always find me with my nose in my Kindle reading a romance novel starring a tough talking, hard loving alpha male and sassy heroine. For the past six years reading has been my addiction. I am always up for a good read and am excited when I get any suggestions. My other loves are working out and spending time with my hubs, family and friends.
