We thought the games were over...but they've only just begun.
She was the puppet.
He pulled the strings.
Now the death toll is rising, what could this mean?
It was all a game.
Death is just an illusion, or so they say.
She was just a pawn on a piece of his demented board. But there’s only one question left to settle the score…Can dead people really stay dead?
*This is not a standalone novel and is book two in a trilogy.*
WARNING: This book contains very disturbing situations, dubious content, strong language, and graphic violence. May contain triggers for abuse victims.
Book two picks up right where book one left off, but from Creed's perspective. I do have to say I really enjoyed getting Creed's POV throughout this book. It allowed for a deeper connection with Creed than we get in the first book, but a connection that is needed as he delves back into The Ghost. You get to fully understand what shaped him into the man he is today, and it's a lesson that is not paved with good intentions. Oh my lanta Creed in this book. I foolishly thought I couldn't love the brute even more, but hot lanta this book proved that there is so much more of him to love. He fights tooth and nail to get Sophia back, and he will stop at nothing until she is safe again ... even if it kills him.
Sophia has become such a strong woman after everything she has been through. Throughout book one she struggles with pulling her pieces together again, and feels that she will always be damaged goods. This time around she has so much more to fight for, and she refuses to let them down. The dynamic between her and her captor was interesting to watch, and often times I was left wanting to yell at the bastard to leave her alone. Sophia isn't the same woman she was when they first abducted her. She is so much more than that now. Her heart belongs to The Ghost and she'll be damned if anything destroys the family she has found. She's no longer afraid of the chaos, she revels in it.
If you are looking for a soft yet sweet love story with candied hearts, doves, and the subtle miscommunication being the couple's main issue ..... then this book is not for you. It's a gritty, dark, and somewhat unconventional romance. You have two people whose broken pieces compliment one another. Two people whose love is chaotic but worth the storm. The way they fight for one another, even when they aren't sure the other is alive and well, is hauntingly beautiful. They don't get as much page time together in this book as they do the last, but hot lanta when they are together they are explosive.
This book will put you through quite the emotional roller coaster ... like I may need therapy after that damn cliffhanger. After that cliffhanger I'm not sure my heart is till beating. Soto keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire book and constantly jabs you with twist after turn. Soto will coerce you into the ghostly shadows and make you want to exact revenge on the asshole who started it all. One lesson learned from this book, never underestimate a chaotic love.

*Book #1 Review*
Give me an alpha male with a woman who aces all forms of sarcasm and I'm putty in you hands -- bonus points if a Reverse Harem is involved. Supernatural esque romance and power plays tend to make my heart go pitter patter. I haven't met a book I wasn't willing to try, so if you've got recommendations email them my way. I'm a foul mouthed makeup addict with slight wino tendencies.
