On the Flap
Liam wasn’t supposed to be my happily ever after.
He wasn’t even on my radar.
He was my husband’s best friend—forbidden.
But my husband is dead and I’m alone. I ache for him and I reach for Liam.
One night with Liam changed everything. Now I have to decide if I truly love him or if he’s just the consolation prize.
The main characters were Natalie (Lee) and Liam. I feel in love with Liam from the moment he walked into the story. Who wouldn’t fall in love with a tough Navy SEAL with a kind heart and morals? And Natalie or Lee, this poor girl has gone through so much. As much as she tries to keep all her troubles to herself, Liam always seems to be there to help her pick up the pieces. He was firm but gentle with her. Helping her to see that she is not alone. He does not try to carry the burden for her but allows her to work it out on her own empowering her to be the woman she once was. Again how can you not fall in love with that?
The thing I most appreciated in this story, besides Liam, was that their relationship had a slow build. It was definitely not a light decision to become involved with one another. Their struggles were so well written. You felt like you were going through it with them.
I am a big fan of military romance novels and Corrine Michaels was just added to my must read list of authors. Well written and enjoyable. I can’t wait to read Conviction.
