On the Flap
Olivia Dare, executive director of the Miami Thunder, and team travel director Dylan Rhodes share more than just a passion for football. Their chemistry is explosive -- their feelings for each other intense. Yet Olivia has ended things for reasons he still can’t fathom and she won’t explain.
Unwilling to let something special go so easily, Dylan has been pursuing Olivia ever since. When the Pro-Bowl takes them to the tropical paradise of Hawaii, Dylan is determined to make sure their time together isn’t all business. What happens in paradise is life altering but once Olivia admits her deepest secret and fear, will Dylan still want the forever he’s been pushing for?
While this is the fifth installment in the Dare to Love series, it can be enjoyed as a stand-alone novel.
In an effort to prove herself as valuable as her brothers in the Miami Thunder front office, Olivia Dare is the epitome of hard work and professionalism. She has worked her way up through the office and is now the executive director. Beneath her façade is still a girl who was hurt by her cheating father and first love. She hides behind her work to avoid getting hurt by any other man.
As the travel director, Dylan Rhodes has worked day in and day out with Olivia. They have had a flirtation for years but now he’s waited long enough. She no longer works directly for him and he’s ready to see just how explosive their chemistry will be.
This book throws you right into the story. There isn’t a huge amount of buildup before we get to see the dynamic of Olivia and Dylan. The crux of this book is based not only on their tangible attraction but also the emotional undercurrents which on projected onto their relationship. While the timeframe for this book seems particularly quick, it works for the most part. I did feel that the resolution of the story was a bit rushed in comparison to the rest of the plotline. While reading, I couldn’t put it down. I flew through the pages and the next thing I know I’m done. Upon completion, I was someone disappointed there was not overwhelming apex to the storyline; of course, this could be attributed to the emotional viewpoint which existed throughout.
