On the flap: A Connection Series Novella featuring Aerie Daniels and Jagger Kennedy (River Wilde's cousin)
Jagger Kennedy never went looking for fame, he just fell into it. After scoring a major modeling contract, his clean-cut good looks and charm catapulted his career. But when his actress girlfriend breaks his heart, he moves to L.A. to try his hand at acting. He needs to make a change, and the last thing he’s looking for is love…
Aerie Daniels is a woman in control … until she meets Jagger. Her surprising connection with him leaves her stunned, and it’s unlike anything she’s ever felt. But just when she lets her walls fall, she makes a startling discovery about him that breaks her fragile heart into a million pieces.
To keep from losing the one woman he can’t bear to be without, Jagger is willing to give up anything—including his career. But even that might not be enough to regain Aerie’s shattered trust…
After an awful break up, Jagger Kennedy has left behind New York City for Los Angeles in hopes of a fresh start. He used his looks and a modeling contract to get to the west coast but has bigger aspirations of becoming an actor full time. As the cousin of River, they are trying to kindle some type of relationship that they missed out on as children.
They meet at Sprinkles where he steals her cupcake. Then they formally meet, of course, through Dahlia and River. There is instantaneous chemistry between the two and surprisingly a genuine friendship immediately follows. They’ve both had their hearts broken severely and don’t want to go through that again so they shield themselves but in different ways. To throw a wrench into the mix, Jagger is auditioning for the role of Aerie’s deceased uncle in a movie. The making of the film bring skeletons out of everyone’s closet and is definitely a test as to whether or not a lasting connection can happen for them.
This story is short, sweet, and to the point. It’s a mostly happy read with two people exploring each other and just a small amount of conflict. If you’re a fan of the series, you’ll be glad to know River and Dahlia are featured throughout. Really my only issue with this one is I wanted more. I wanted a full length story for Aerie. I found her to be complex and layered with potential to grow even more. Regardless, this is a beautiful story and a fantastic addition to the series.
