From the New York Times bestselling author of Sweet Ache comes a blistering new novel filled with danger, secrecy, and a desire that can’t be sated…
Foreign war correspondent Tanner Thomas is addicted to living on the edge. Needing the adrenaline rush of his job to help him cope with a personal loss, he throws himself back into the game, concentrating all his energy on getting the next big story.
But when he meets his new photojournalist, Beaux Croslyn, he can’t help but feel like he’s losing his focus—and maybe risking more…
With secrets she won’t address, Beaux is far from your ordinary woman. Determined to keep her distance, she’s willing to pull Tanner in closer and hide behind the sparks flying between them. But as Beaux’s past begins to put their relationship—and their lives—at risk, Tanner’s determination to find the truth puts them both in jeopardy.
He's ready to chase her to the ends of the earth to find out if what they had was real, or if the danger surrounding them was just an exquisite heat fated to burn out…
K Bromberg does it again. Although this is a Driven novel, it can be read as a stand-alone. It is fabulously written and very different from any books out there. Hard Beat is about Tanner Thomas a foreign correspondent, who after losing his best friend and photographer, is fighting to get back into the field. He is doing it to prove to everyone that her death did not affect his ability to do his job. He’s also doing it to see if it will help him get over her death. The only thing is that going back out in the field means working with another photographer. That is when Beaux walks into his life. Their first meeting is heated in public and in the bedroom. There is something there for both of them but they just don’t know what it is.
This book blew me away because it was so different than anything out there. One, it is written in Tanner’s point of view. I usually read books that are written in both the hero and the heroine’s point of view but none that are written in the hero’s point of view only. I think it added a little more mystery to the story and the other characters, especially Beaux. Throughout the story, you are taken on the journey with him not only to figure out the mystery that is Beaux but also to see how through this hard beat, he finds his heart beat. I laughed, I cried, I got upset but in the end, I loved it. Loved it all. Thank you K Bromberg.

You can always find me with my nose in my Kindle reading a romance novel starring a tough talking, hard loving alpha male and sassy heroine. For the past six years reading has been my addiction. I am always up for a good read and am excited when I get any suggestions. My other loves are working out and spending time with my hubs, family and friends.
