Andonia “Andi” Schwartz is the kind of gal you love to hate. Snarky, skinny, and jaded, Andi’s goodness lies hidden beneath her sharp edges. But it’s there . . . this independent single mom has it going on.
Reid Fellows is a lovable dude. Bespectacled tenure-track statistics professor by day, shirtless blogger by night, he’s a catch on paper and easy on the eyes.
Andi wields her power and unruly commentary from behind her laptop as the anonymous proprietor of The UnAffectionate Blogger. Reid’s blog, Grill and Groom, began on a dare. Now, he regularly shows his abs of steel while grilling.
He may love this gig more than his day job. She needs her page views and advertisers to support her daughter. Until the two meet and spin a web online and IRL . . . in real life.
What happens when two bloggers fall for each other?
A new blog is born.
Think modern day You've Got Mail meets the life of a blogger. The premise pulled me in from the get go and honestly I was hooked from page one. It was interesting to see two bloggers that were polar opposites on what they revealed about themselves to their audiences. Andi had no filter when it came to her blog, but she was able to hide behind her anonymous identity and at the same time protect her heart. Reid on the other hand doesn't want to hide his identity and feels free being able to share his recipes side by side with his smoking bod. They each had their own reasons for their approaches, but they also both had room to grow.
Was Andi and Reid's love story scorching high on the Scoville scale? No, but it was sweet and fun. Reid came barging into Andi's life whether she was ready for him or not. Once Andi started opening up to Reid and allowing herself to feel for him things started heating up. They had really great chemistry and it was nice to see her finally give into it. The way Reid interacted with Andi's daughter Gabby was so damn precious. His scenes with Gabby practically had my ovaries exploding over the cuteness.
Hiding a secret identity from your partner is never a good idea, but at least Andi was just hiding that she was a blogger and not a serial killer. Did I have a few laughs? Oh heck yes. Could I stop my eyes from rolling occasionally? That'd be a negative. Was I charmed by the ever charming Reid? Yasss. Was their love all consuming? No, but it's on the road to it. Overall it was a fund read and their love story was quite a sweet journey.

Give me an alpha male with a woman who aces all forms of sarcasm and I'm putty in you hands -- bonus points if a Reverse Harem is involved. Supernatural esque romance and power plays tend to make my heart go pitter patter. I haven't met a book I wasn't willing to try, so if you've got recommendations email them my way. I'm a foul mouthed makeup addicted with slight wino tendencies.
