The angst and slow-burn love in RIPPED - The Price of Loyalty will make your pulse race and your heart ache. If you like bad girl/bad boy rock stars, sexy seduction, and heart-wrenching love stories, download RIPPED - The Price of Loyalty now Review Gemma, Kyle, and Hunter's rock band, Everhide, are taking the world by storm and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. They eat, sleep, and breathe music. Riding the high of their music, they have everything they could ever want. Don't they? Gemma is the lead singer and the buffer between the 2 men of the group. Kyle and Hunter have been friends forever and when Gemma came along they embraced her with open arms into their inner circle. They have been the Three Musketeers waging war together through this music industry, but they are about to face the biggest threat to their music ... themselves. Kyle loves Gemma. Gemma loves Hunter. Hunter loves anything with lady bits. There are a few songs by Everhide that pop up throughout the book and holy toledo I wish they were real songs. Not only do the songs tie into the rockstar aspect of the book well, but they are also another facet for our characters to express all that they are feeling. The confusion. The love. The hurt. The storm of emotions. All is felt through these songs and they allow you to really feel what our trio is feeling. The depths of their friendship and their passion for Everhide stay consistent throughout the book, even with everything they go through. Kyle had my heart from the get go, and you hurt right along with him when he puts the band over his feelings for Gemma and how her and Hunter being together hurt him. He is there to be the rock for both of his friends, even though he really needs one of them to be the rock for him. Even though I felt for Kyle, I never had ill feelings towards Gemma. Gemma was level headed (though sometimes not) and full of passion. You can't help but love Hunter as the resident bad boy and lady killer. All three of our main characters are relatable. Kyle represents how it feels to love someone who loves someone else and supporting them even if it hurts. Gemma represents that one time you were in love with someone and realized later that the love you thought you had was not exactly what you had hoped it to be. Hunter represents the one love we wanted to change and hoped that our love was enough to change them even though if you really loved them you wouldn't want to change them. I would have liked to see some build up that lead to Gemma's dreams. It felt weird diving straight into the Hunter and Gemma relationship. I wanted to see who they were before hand and see how Gemma started developing these feelings towards Hunter. It was a bit disorienting jumping in because it felt weird seeing them together when they didn't seem to fit. This was probably done on purpose, but my personal taste would have liked to see a bit of a buildup before diving right in. I enjoy those burns, even if it seems a bit unrequited on one side at first. The book was aptly named because at times it "ripped" my heart into pieces, but the rips felt oh so good. There are so many things going on both within the band and outside of the band that you are sent through this emotional roller coaster, but one with a twisted but good ending. It was such a ride seeing how things were going to pan out for our beloved rockstars, and one I'd gladly take another ride on again. P.S. Can their songs be real? Pretty please. Rating: 4 stars ![]() Give me an alpha male with a woman who aces all forms of sarcasm and I'm putty in you hands -- bonus points if a Reverse Harem is involved. Supernatural esque romance and power plays tend to make my heart go pitter patter. I haven't met a book I wasn't willing to try, so if you've got recommendations email them my way. I'm a foul mouthed makeup addicted with slight wino tendencies.
