On the Flap

USA Today bestselling author Stacey Kennedy returns to the tantalizing world of Club Sin in an enticing novel of control and surrender.

Porter Marshall has nearly achieved his goal of becoming a Club Sin Master, but his new sub poses a much bigger challenge than he anticipated. Despite their mutual attraction and red-hot dungeon sessions, Kenzie Hart plays her own games. Her bratty, you-can’t-break-me attitude masks terrible personal hurt—pain that only the exquisite touch of a skilled Dom can release. But when Porter suggests taking their connection to the outside world, Kenzie denies him . . . which only makes him want her more.

Kenzie can’t ignore the raw, fierce bond she has with Porter. But she can’t give in to his dangerous demands, either. Is the passion they share real, or is he using her to solidify his status at Club Sin? And yet, who else can she trust with the shattering secrets she holds within? As Porter expertly brings her to the point of no return, Kenzie surrenders her body—and, piece by piece, her heart.

Tamed is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.

Review

Kenzie Hart is an intelligent, ambitious woman who runs the family bookstore.  At Club Sin, she’s better known as a brat.  She uses her troublesome behavior to get what she thinks she needs without the emotional attachment and subsequent disappointment.

Porter Marshall is on the fast track to become a Master at the club.  While not new to the lifestyle, he is newer to this club.  As a final task, he’s been assigned to handle Kenzie.  He agrees to the challenge and by the end of their first scene, he realizes there’s more than meets the eye.  They have passionate chemistry even if neither is ready to admit it.  He’s ready to push her to find what she hides beneath the surface.

I have only read one other in the Club Sin series, Bared.  I enjoyed it and what I even further enjoy is that you don’t have to read all the books to get an understanding of what’s going on.  Yes, they are connected and the more you read the better idea you have but it isn’t essential to be able to appreciate as a stand-alone.

I love Porter and Kenzie both as individual characters and together as a couple.  She’s a bit broken from her tragic past but still stubborn—and almost to a fault; but we find a balance with Porter who is protective and self-confident.  These two are very much like yin and yang.  This book just works for me.  There isn’t a huge amount of scenes in the dungeon, but the ones that transpire are sexy; instead this story focuses on their relationship and growth as individuals.  I appreciate there is a sub plot with a bit of a suspense/thriller theme to facilitate development between the two.  I would easily recommend this to someone who is newer to reading BDSM books or if you just want a good emotional story with a side of edginess.

Rating: 4.5 Stars
