17+ due to explicit content and real-life situations. Erotic romance novella
I can’t even tell you how addicted I am to this series. Having read quite a few serial romances, I have noticed the story often becomes a bit stale after the first few installments. This one has not suffered that fate. If anything, I was surprised at the turn of the developments surrounding a couple of secondary characters. One had me saying “WHAT?!”, but not in a bad way. It was a twist I didn’t see coming but does make sense. I mean we knew there was something less than wholesome about Tommy, but who knew he is so bad?
Rebecca continues down her callous path. Largely, I get her bad attitude. She’s trying to salvage the time, effort, and emotions she’s invested into this long-term relationship with Brendan. Sadly, he just doesn’t feel the same way. Her own hurt feelings are exposed and she is either reacting on emotion or evolving into a truly malicious person. While I think it’s the former, the jury is out on her. Regardless, she’s not one to fight with because the claws will come out. Since this portion is focused on choices, hers are not of her typical public persona. For her sake, let’s hope she gets her head back on track before she comprehensively damages everything she’s worked for.
Brendan and Annie have a chance to further their connection. It’s clear there is physical chemistry though now the emotional and intellectual bond is manifesting. He realizes he’s comfortable with her and for the first time since college is looking for something more. Annie recognizes her crush is turning into more robust feelings and knows she must divulge the truth of her identity to Brendan before it’s too late. Is there every a good time to say who she is? Probably not, but better to do it before someone else does.
I can’t wait to see what revelations come next. I want them to have some happy time but stories are so much better when you have to work through the angst.
