The first time I met Brody Easton was in the men’s locker room.
It was my first interview as a professional sportscaster.
The famed quarterback decided to bare all.
And by all, I don’t mean he told me any of his secrets.
No. The arrogant ass decided to drop his towel, just as I asked the first question. On camera.
The Super Bowl MVP quickly adopted a new hobby—screwing with me.
When I pushed back, he shifted from wanting to screw with me, to wanting to screw me.
But I don’t date players.
And it’s not because I’m one of the few women working in the world of professional football.
I’d date an athlete.
It’s the other kind of player I don’t date.
You know the type. Good looking, strong, cocky, always looking to get laid.
Brody Easton was the ultimate player.
Every woman wanted to be the one to change him.
But the truth was, all he needed was a girl worth changing for.
Turned out, I was that girl.
Let’s face it. It never is.
There’s a story between once upon a time and happily ever after…
And this one is ours.
This hot standalone novel is about Delilah Maddox, who is an up and coming sports reporter whose job it is to cover the local NFL team, the New York Steel. This is a job she has been waiting for. In her new position, she handles the locker room interviews. A tough job in a male dominated field. She does fine until she comes to the star quarterback, Brody Easton. Who during her on-air interview decides to drop his towel letting her see why the ladies call him Subway. Gathering her wits, she completes the interview with her dignity in tact, barely. This was the start to a very interesting cat and mouse relationship between her and Brody.
I have to stop here and say that Brody is one of the hottest book boyfriends I have read in awhile. Brody is a man who knows what he wants and that's Delilah. His way of pursuing her is off the charts hot. I loved his character because he was unabashedly honest. He held nothing back. He didn't hide things because of fear of rejection or judgement. He is a take or leave it kind of guy who is as loyal as they come. Delilah is a great match for Brody because she didn't let his off color comments throw her. The girl had some great comebacks. When she finally gives in, the “ohmygod” hotness between them burned up the pages. She gave as good as she got.
This courtship did not go without its challenges. They both had been hurt in the past. They both were protecting their hearts from being hurt again. It's this fear that had held them back but had kept me reading.
This is one of the best sports romance stories I have read in a long time. The story moved at a nice pace. The fact that I read this in one night is a testament to how much I loved the story, the characters and the content. If you're looking for a hot NFL QB to spark your imagination and make the final weeks of the NFL season that much hotter, you need this book.
