On the flap: A secret fantasy.
Hunter had everything until a bullet put his career as a Navy SEAL on hold. Restless and uncertain about his future, he accepts an intriguing proposition: share an acquaintance’s girlfriend and fulfill her fantasy of a ménage. It should have been just a night of sexual adventure between three consenting adults. But Kata is like no other girl Hunter has ever met. By turns audacious and sexy, then vulnerable and aloof, she’s a heartbreaker he’s determined to master. But he needs more than one night. And he wants to do it alone.
Kata never expected to leave her comfortable relationship and explore something so dangerously forbidden with a stranger. Hard as she tries to resist, the guilty pleasure overwhelms her, and she surrenders herself, inch by inch, to the hardcore man who wants her for himself. Consumed by blazing desire, they’re soon threatened by the shadows of the past. And now to keep Kata safe, Hunter makes her a bold proposition of his own. Saying yes will destroy her heart. But saying no could cost Kata her life.
Hunter Edgington is a Navy Seal and the oldest brother to Kimber. We’ve seen his as the strong silent type in previous books but really get to know him in this one. While on leave he agrees to help his boot camp buddy fulfill a fantasy of a threesome for a friend with benefits…enter Kata. Her birthday party in Vegas is set to be everything she ever wanted and more. Her friend has invited a mysterious stranger that sets her off kilter and makes her heart thump.
I love this book! My favorite in the series so far. Both of the main characters are strong and audacious. Who knew Hunter would turn out to be so talkative? And definitely fluent in dirty talk! While he’s sometime overbearing, he also has her best interests in mind. He will do everything to keep her out of harm’s way even if that means having to give her up. Kata proves she won’t lie down and take anything easily. She doesn’t want to be viewed as weak, unable, or dependent. Can they move past all of that and find a happily ever after? Will they both be alive to make that decision?
My favorite quote of the book, “Manacles and chains and steel. Oh My.” I think that sums up the book well.
