On the flap: Book 2 in The Manhattanites series
At thirty-three, Warner Truman is one of the richest men on the planet, a spa mogul who buys and sells resorts at will. He holds powerful executives' careers in his well-groomed hands. Nothing is beyond Warner's reach...until he meets her.
Stunning, tantalizing and perverse, Taddy Brill captivates Warner's carnal desire like no woman he's ever met. A self-made millionaire, Taddy is tougher than steel, more brilliant than diamonds and, at twenty-seven, she's never depended on a man for anything...until she meets him.
The more Taddy plays with Warner's affections, driving him to erotic heights, the
Unscrupulous is the second outing in The Manhattanites series by Avery Astor. It’s the story of Taddy Brill and Warner Truman. Taddy is a vivacious red head that made her millions as a media mogul working hard from a young age to persevere past a troubled childhood. She’s comes across as tough but has a soft heart. With a sad history of his own yet an open heart Warner is one of the richest men in the world. This spa and hotelier finds love at an unexpected time. They’re both used to being in control, but who will come out on top?
I think this book is more fun than the first. It is more or less like a prequel and you don’t have to read the first in the series to be able to get everything in this one. I enjoy the easy writing style of the author; it has the familiar feel much like an evening out with the girls. There’s more dirty talk than action but also a balance with emotions. The only item left unsettled with Taddy’s story is of her paternity. While it is alluded to, there’s no definitive resolution…perhaps this will tie into the next story.
